Meet CMI Researcher Ed Jones
CMI researcher Ed Jones has been at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) for 22 years, where his work has centered on the analysis, engineering, reliability and performance of energy, environmental, and national asset systems, including infrastructure and materials. He has developed extensive capabilities in the application of probabilistic methods and models to complex performance problems. Recent innovations have been applied to carbon management, network systems, logistical fragilities, and quantifying uncertainty. He has managed large programs in systems risk and response management, including development of core scientific and engineering capabilities. Prior to joining LLNL, Ed was at BDM International, Inc., where he performed work in non-linear science and engineering projects for elements of the U.S. Department of Defense. His education was in engineering and materials science at the University of California, Berkeley, and Stanford University.
